A New York-style pizza and cocktail bar is headed to a long-vacant SE Portland storefront.

Alex Gesler and Shaw Flick plan to open Mossback Tavern at 3813 SE Gladstone St., targeting November 2026, according to the tavern's website. The space last housed The Dullahan Pizza Pub, which closed in July 2025 after less than a year in business.

Bridgetown Bites first reported details of the project on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The tavern will serve pizza, cocktails, beer, wine and sandwiches seven days a week, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. or midnight. Full pies will be available until around 10 p.m., with slices sold until close.

Gesler and Flick are both longtime Portland hospitality workers. Flick lives near the space and brought the idea to Gesler after watching it sit empty for more than a year.

The owners are waiting on a full on-premises liquor license before setting a firm opening date.
