Portland father sentenced to 75 months in prison for death of 4-year-old son

Multnomah County Judge Melvin Oden-Orr sentenced Marquavious Dovontae Ware, 23, to concurrent prison terms totaling 75 months for second-degree manslaughter in the death of his son Jahorden Clay, whose autopsy revealed cigarette burns, broken ribs, and severe malnutrition. The case has renewed scrutiny of Oregon's Department of Human Services, which closed an abuse report two weeks before the boy died.
