The FBI is offering up to $25,000 for tips in the unsolved 2023 shooting that killed three young men in North Portland.

The reward targets information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the deaths of Eskender Tamra, 17, Babu Daudi, 19, and Patrick Johnson, 20. The FBI's Portland Field Office announced the reward Thursday, Oct. 1, as first reported by KOIN 6 News.

The three were found dead inside their car at the intersection of North Foss Avenue and Foss Court on March 25, 2023. Calls reporting gunfire came in just before 12:30 p.m., and North Precinct officers found all three already dead when they arrived, according to KOIN's original reporting. The scene was near the Charles Jordan Community Center in the Portsmouth neighborhood.

No suspects were found at the scene. No arrests have been made.

The bureau posted the reward on its official wanted page and on its verified X account. The FBI said its investigation indicates three individuals fired numerous gunshots at the victims' vehicle, killing all three occupants.

Tamra was a junior at Franklin High School. Daudi, also identified as Isaac Daudi, was a senior at Roosevelt High School. Johnson lived in Portland. Portland Public Schools confirmed two of the victims were students and sent a statement to families in March 2023, as KOIN reported.

Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Kevin Allen, speaking to KOIN on the day of the shooting, said detectives were gathering surveillance video and interviewing neighbors. He said the motive was unknown.

"We don't know whether it was personal, whether it was random," Allen told KOIN in March 2023.

Then-Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell called the daytime shooting in a residential neighborhood a public safety concern and said he was briefing the mayor's office. Then-Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt said two of his deputy district attorneys were on scene working the case with Portland Police Bureau detectives.

More than three years later, the case remains unsolved. The FBI's wanted page does not specify whether the bureau took over the investigation from Portland police or is working the case jointly.

As of late March 2023, the triple homicide had brought Portland's homicide count that year to 17, 16 by gunfire. A memorial was created at the shooting site on North Foss Avenue in the days after the killings.
