Adele J. Ridenour will not appear on the Tuesday, Nov. 3 ballot for Multnomah County Circuit Court, District 4, Position 34. She already secured the seat.
Ridenour won the nonpartisan primary outright on May 19 with 98.4% of the vote, receiving 76,511 of 77,742 ballots cast, according to Ballotpedia. She ran unopposed. The general election for the position was subsequently canceled.
Gov. Tina Kotek appointed Ridenour to the bench effective July 1, 2025, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Beth Allen, according to a governor's office announcement. Before her appointment, Ridenour handled complex lawsuits at Ball Janik LLP from 2010 to 2022 and at Markowitz Herbold PC from 2023 to 2025, focusing on construction defect and design disputes on behalf of homeowners, affordable housing organizations and other property owners.
Ridenour also served as a pro tempore judge on the Oregon Circuit Court from 2018 to 2025, according to BallotReady. She volunteered as an arbitrator in the Mandatory Arbitration Program in Multnomah and Washington counties, according to the governor's office announcement.
In 2023, the Multnomah Bar Association awarded Ridenour its Merit Award for her work on the MBA Fellows Taskforce.
She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Gonzaga University in 2001 and a juris doctor from the University of Oregon in 2004.
